| Forty one players out in tonight's sunshine enjoying what was a beautiful night for playing our beloved game. The course looked in perfect condition and was a good test of golf. You need to hit those fairways and green to avoid what is now long and punishing rough. Get in the semi rough around the greens and you need to play like a pro to get it up and down to save parr. One person who must have done just that tonight was Mark Langford with his 40 points playing off a 7 handicap. Well done Mark. Chris Smith also played well to amass his 38 points. He did look rather smug when he came in the club house. Quote of the evening must be from Paddy Farrell who asked Paul Collinwood (yes that's right the ex England cricket captain, quality batsman and all rounder who is down playing for Durham at Somerset in the 4 day county match)"hi guys, you in the Crispy?" Not quite sure what Paul thought but I guest he just put it down to a 'Somerset Local Yocal'. I did notice Sam behind the bar almost bent double in laughter at Paddy's faux-pas!!!!! |
